Delta Air Lines is bringing back its Boston-Honolulu flights, restoring America's longest domestic flight route. The Atlanta-based airline will operate the route four times a week for most of the winter, with daily flights during the peak holiday travel rush. The carrier will use an Airbus A330-300, featuring 34 lie-flat Delta One seats, 21 Delta Premium Select recliners, 24 extra-legroom Comfort seats, and 203 seats in the main cabin. This route will reclaim the title of America's longest domestic flight, which was previously held by Delta and Hawaiian Airlines. Delta also announced new nonstop service from Minneapolis-St. Paul to Maui, marking its second nonstop flight to Hawaii from the hub. The carrier will operate five weekly round trips on this route for most of the winter, expanding to daily service during peak holiday rush and spring break. Delta is planning a larger Hawaii expansion for next winter, including extra weekly flights to Honolulu from Atlanta, Detroit, and New York, as well as an earlier start to its winter seasonal service from Salt Lake City to the Big Island. The carrier will also use a larger plane for its flights from Los Angeles to the Big Island. These additions come as a welcome boost for travelers seeking to explore Hawaii, especially after a cold winter in much of the country. For those with Delta SkyMiles, this is a great opportunity to redeem their miles for a trip to Hawaii during the holidays. However, it's important to note that Delta's 'basic' award flights may not offer the same flexibility for cancellations.
