Dino Prizmic has secured his spot at the upcoming Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF—an achievement that highlights a promising trajectory in his young tennis career. But here’s where it gets interesting: his journey to this milestone wasn’t just about talent; it was the result of perseverance through a season filled with challenges and breakthroughs.
Hailing from Croatia, Prizmic developed his early tennis skills at the famous Tenis Klub Split, a nurturing ground for tennis legends like Goran Ivanisevic and Mario Ancic. Interestingly, he balanced his tennis ambitions with his love for football during his youth. It wasn’t until he was 14 that he dedicated himself more fully to tennis, moving to Zagreb—the city with a larger pool of training partners—to hone his craft.
His breakthrough came in 2023, when he captured the Boys’ singles title at Roland Garros and won his first ATP Challenger Tour event. These accomplishments marked him as a rising star on the tennis scene. His early promise was further demonstrated in January of the following year, when he pushed Novak Djokovic to a set at the Australian Open—an impressive feat for a young player just beginning to make waves.
However, the road wasn’t smooth. 2024 was marred by injuries, temporarily derailing his momentum. But resilience paid off in 2025, as Prizmic bounced back stronger. During the European summer, he claimed two Challenger titles on clay courts—first in Zagreb, then in Bratislava—showcasing his clay-court prowess.
These victories propelled him high in the PIF ATP Live Race to Jeddah, boosting his chances for qualification. His solid performances continued with a quarter-final appearance at his home ATP 250 event in Umag, and he also qualified for the US Open, earning his first main-draw victory at Tour level in Chengdu.
Now, as the year concludes with a trip to Jeddah, Prizmic is visibly excited. “I am really excited to qualify for Jeddah,” he shared. “This season was full of ups and downs but I am really happy with how the season has ended. See you in Jeddah.”
The 2025 Next Gen ATP Finals, scheduled from December 17 to 21, will showcase the brightest young talents in tennis. Past champions include notable players like Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, and this year’s qualifiers—Jakub Mensik, Learner Tien, and Alexander Blockx—continue that tradition of emerging stars.
