Moby's New Album 'Future Quiet': A Journey into Ambient Sounds (2026)

Get ready for a musical journey with Moby's upcoming album, 'Future Quiet', a captivating blend of ambient sounds and emotional vocals. This new release is set to drop on February 20, 2026, and it's already creating quite a buzz!

But here's where it gets controversial... Moby, known for his diverse musical tastes, has taken inspiration from the iconic Cocteau Twins and This Mortal Coil for this project. Leading the charge is a reimagined version of his 1995 hit, 'When It's Cold I'd Like to Die', featuring the incredible Jacob Lusk of Gabriels. This track alone is a masterpiece, and it's no surprise that it has gained popularity since its appearance in the first season of Stranger Things.

Moby gushes about Lusk's vocals, saying, 'His voice is simply mesmerizing. I was determined to collaborate with him, and I'm thrilled he agreed. The outcome is nothing short of extraordinary.'

In a recent press release, Moby delved deeper into his influences, revealing, 'As a youth, I dabbled in hardcore punk and spun hip hop, house, and industrial tunes, but I also sought solace in the quietness of This Mortal Coil, Cocteau Twins, and the ambient works of Eno and Bowie. Future Quiet is a direct result of these influences, with songs like 'Song to the Siren' and Joy Division's 'Atmosphere' playing on repeat in my mind.'

The album, mostly instrumental, also features an array of talented guest vocalists, including Serpentwithfeet, Elise Serenelle, and India Carney. BMG is proud to present this record, and Moby is gearing up for a massive tour to promote it.
